Leadership and Teamwork for the 21st Century Successful organisations
have a positive organisational culture created by key people who believe in creating a culture of empowerment. They understand the importance of teamwork and the necessity for self-knowledge.
In order to bring this about, everyone has to know how to lead, build teams and
motivate others. Being "good at your job" is no longer enough. The ability to influence, communicate and get on with others is increasingly important.
But too often people forget even how to be who they are. They get hidden behind
roles and position and outflanked by flunkies; they lose touch. Great leaders however, know how to be vulnerable yet powerful, how to create a rich reality yet remain unadorned. They talk directly to us
and are not scared to play. They engage us with their truth and inspire us with passion and vision.
Such a person is a true Hero; both king and fool, magician and priest. This
workshop takes the familiar aspects of leadership and breathes new life into old wisdom. You gain a profound self-mastery, find new insights in working with teams and learn how to create a context of
empowerment to release the talents of others.
Methods The Heroes at Work seminar has a focus on the skills of leadership and teamwork with high task-achievement as worthwhile in itself. All exercises are carefully designed to be relevant to the business environment. But more importantly, they are also a vehicle to deepen our self-knowledge. Using an intelligent and caring critique, we develop awareness and responsibility. People see how their own behaviour, attitudes and beliefs help shape their context and create the response they observe in others.
This, together with a hands-on approach to developing Process Skills, provides a
powerful experience which can be directly applied back in the workplace as well as in private life. Much use is made of video cameras and the outdoors, with creative, relevant and challenging exercises.
Learning comes not just from these exercises and carefully structured reviews. It comes also from facilitators and consultants who themselves 'walk their talk'.
Ultimately however, the most important learning comes from the growing
commitment of each participant, to bring forth the Heroes in themselves and in each other.
