Work Garth Spiers works as a consultant, coach and trainer
to improve business performance.
With a focus on the human side of change and a
background in the quantitative sciences he is able to make the links between business success, culture and personal attitudes.
He is retained by some of the largest organisations in
the world such as Disney and SmithKline Beecham, United Nations and the Red Cross, to advise on their management of change, team building and training programmes and is accustomed to consulting at the
highest level. Furthermore, individuals at all stages in their career call on his skill as a mentor and communications expert to coach them in Personal Mastery.
He has developed a unique blend of business, psychology and theatre to produce
learning that is practical, challenging and inspiring to help individuals reach their full potential and apply it within the work context.

Background Spiers established his own consultancy firm in 1979 in which he and his
colleagues specialise in individual and organisational transformation. In 1982 he set up an IT & Sales training company called ITEM. This had Government funding
and focused on retraining people over 12 weeks full time to enter the IT job market as informed entrepreneurs. His methods proved to have a 90% success rate.
For a few years he was also a professional actor. He has appeared in several
episodes of Tales of the Unexpected, as Guy Fawkes with BBC but mostly in repertory theatre in many great plays such as Guys and Dolls, The Boy Friend
and The Home Coming. Based on this experience he is able to bring a fresh and lively approach to his workshops, helping people perform with confidence.
Educational & Personal
Garth Spiers holds an M.Sc. in Operational Research with Industrial Psychology and a B.Sc. in Psychology, Maths and Physics. He is a Master Practitioner in NLP
and holds a diploma in Chinese Medicine. He has worked as a teacher on VSO, as an OR scientist in a steel firm, a lecturer in business studies to post graduate
students and has been a Leadership Advisor with the Industrial Society. Garth has a keen interest in singing and guitar playing and is a father of four children.
