From
"Presenting Panic" to Charisma
A vice president of a large IT division always avoided making
presentations to large groups - especially senior ones. He says "I have panic attacks before the event and although I know my subject inside out, I feel extremely uncomfortable during the
presentation"
- Through a counselling discussion, he discovered that he created his own stage fright by poor breathing and
posture, weak vocal qualities and a vivid imagination of negative outcomes.
- We worked to create a stronger physical presence and positive outcomes. Once he was able to see, with the use
of cctv, the difference that this made, he started to feel good about himself. Instead of being his worst critic, he became his best friend.
- This culminated in him delivering a speech on a soap box in a public place! His said that what helped him most was our
encouragement of his ability to 'play'.
His new found confidence was discovered after only three
sessions of four hours.
